The Mississippi State Department of Health on Sunday reported 193 new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 6 new deaths.

Adams County is reporting four new cases, no new deaths and no new cases in long-term care facilities. The total number of cases reported by MSDH in Adams county rose to 113 on Sunday with still seven deaths and 17 cases in long-term care facilities.

Two long-term care facilities in Adams County have reported outbreaks.

Mississippi’s total COVID-19 cases since March 11 now stands at 5,911, with 227 deaths.

Mississippi COVID-19 Cases to Date

Long-term care (LTC) facilities like nursing homes are considered high risk locations because their residents are older or in poor health. Even one case of COVID-19 in these facilities among residents or employees is considered an outbreak. We investigate residents, staff and close contacts of infected individuals for possible exposure.
