NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Dr. Willie Maxwell, 91, who passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 31, 2020, at RiverBridge Specialty hospital were held at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Natchez, on April 3, 2020, at 11 a.m. under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

He was born on April 24, 1928, in Lincoln County to Willie Richard Maxwell, Sr. and Dora Beeson Maxwell. He finished high school at Fair Oak Springs in 1946. Shortly after, he joined the United States Navy and served aboard the USS Macon. Dr. Maxwell is a graduate of the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. He spent over 40 years as a Chiropractor practicing in Natchez, MS under his clinic names of Natchez Chiropractic Clinic and Miss-Lou Chiropractic Clinic.

He was preceded in death by his parents and step mother, Ethel Wooley Maxwell, brothers, T.C. Maxwell and Preston Maxwell, sisters, Bea Maxwell Price, Marie Maxwell Bardwell, Nell Maxwell and Jewel Maxwell.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Lois Ellen Segers Maxwell, Dr. Willie R. (Rick) Maxwell III of Natchez and his wife, Beanie Maxwell, Ronn Maxwell of Santa Rosa, Florida and his wife Cindy Maxwell, Lois Ann Huggins of Calhoun, LA and her husband Mark Huggins, David Daniel of Mooresville, NC and special friend, Shannon Sands, grandchildren, Margaret Feldman and her husband Doug, Destin Piercy and his wife Samantha, William Maxwell, Dillon Piercy and his wife Jansen, Morgan Lipsey and her husband Austin , Tommy Huggins and fiancé’ Jaycee Wink and Cambryn Tucker. Great Grandchildren, Sylvia, Rhett, John Luke and Ridge. Sister Lucky Maxwell Sellers and special niece, Sandy McKee.

Pallbearers were Destin Piercy, Dillon Piercy, William Maxwell, Austin Lipsey, Tommy Huggins and his God Son, Lee Mardis.

Honorary pallbearers were Jack Cupit, Charman Cupit, Bobby Seydell, Michael Craven, Allen Mardis, and Chum Huggins.
