NATCHEZ — Natchez Adams School District Athletics announced Sunday night on Facebook that all sports and athletic activities are postponed until further notice due to COVID-19.

The announcement comes after Mayor Darryl Grennell declared a state of emergency in Natchez on Sunday afternoon.

The Facebook post by Natchez Adams School District Athletics stated the use of athletic facilities is “not allowed during this time.”

The Mississippi High School Activities Association has not made an announcement on the postponement of spring sports. MHSAA is meeting today via teleconference to take action and approve plans for schools participation in spring sports.
