Adams County Christian School uses big fifth inning to defeat Monterey High School

MONTEREY — A big fifth inning propelled Adams County Christian School Rebels to a 13-2 victory over Monterey High School on Friday night.
The Rebels scored seven runs in the fifth inning. Three walks, a double and a sacrifice fly helped ACCS score the runs in the inning.
Rebels’ Connor Aplin hit a double in the fifth inning and scored two runs. In the game, Aplin went one for four at the plate.
Aplin was the starting pitcher in the game for the Rebels. Aplin pitched three innings and gave up two runs on two hits. He struck out six batters and walked three batters in the game.
For the Wolves (2-3), Roach went two for three with one RBI.
Clark came into the game in the top of the second for Monterey. He gave up one run and two walks. Clark struck out five batters in the game.
ACCS (2-1) hosts Vidalia High School (1-5) at 7 p.m. Monday.
