Natchez — Graveside services for Larry Gene Patt, 83, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2020, will be held at a later date.

Larry was born, Jan. 2, 1937, in Natchez.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, in which he served from1959 until 1962, serving in the Military Police. He returned from active service in the Army to re-establish his life in his hometown in Natchez, at which time he married his wife, Kay to whom he remained married for 56 years until his death. He was the owner of several small businesses and a published songwriter. Larry was an avid film buff, especially of the classical era, and counted among his other interests songwriting, billiards, and playing cards. He was also an animal lover. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emory and BetheI Patt, brother Earl, sisters Louise and Bonnie, and his beloved granddaughter, Lauren Franklin.

Larry is survived by his wife; daughter, Donna Herndon and her husband, Tim, of Vidalia; son, Rick Patt and his wife, Tammy, of Ridgeland, Mississippi; three grandchildren, Paige, Taylor, Lindsey and her husband, Adam; great-grandchildren, Karter and Addison; and his brother Lynn Patt and wife, Lola, of Ferriday.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Natchez-Adams Humane Society or Grace United Methodist Church of Natchez, where he was a member.
