Dale qualifies for re-election as municipal judge

NATCHEZ — Incumbent Municipal Court Judge Lisa Jordan Dale filed qualifying paper work to seek reelection to her position earlier this week.

Dale is the latest candidate to file for this year’s municipal elections.

The deadline for candidates to qualify for the City of Natchez election is Feb. 7 and the primary election is April 7. Runoff elections, if necessary, will be April 28, followed by the general election on June 2.

Below is a list of candidates who have qualified to run for Natchez municipal positions so far.

Mayor

Ernest “Tony” Fields and Dan Gibson are both running as Democrats for the seat being vacated by Grennell, who announced in December he would not be seeking reelection as mayor.

Ward 1

Valencia Hall has filed to run against incumbent Ward 1 Alderwoman Joyce Arceneaux-Mathis, both as Democrats, and Jamar White filed to run as an independent candidate.

Ward 2

Incumbent Alderman Billie Joe Frazier

Ward 4

Incumbent Alderwoman Felicia Irving

Ward 5

Incumbent Alderman Ben Davis

Ward 6

Arrick Rice and Queen Ella Wilson, are both running as Democrats against incumbent Alderman Dan Dillard.
