NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Larry Matthews Sr., 64, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020, in Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Natchez National Cemetery.

Burial will follow under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Mr. Matthews was born Sept. 25, 1955, in Natchez, the son of Napoleon Matthews and Narcissia Roddy.

He was a 1973 graduate of North Natchez Adams High School and also attended Copoah-Lincoln Community College. Larry enjoyed hunting and shooting pool.

He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Napoleon Johnson; and sister, Bobbye Ann Roddy.

Survivors include his mother; three sons, Troy Hayes and wife, Lakisa, Larry Matthews Jr., and wife, Kiera, and Michael T. Matthews; one daughter, Alexsandra Kylie Walker and husband, Lindsey; seven grandchildren, Troy Janek Reed, Tiara Chatman, Braylin Hayes, Kaydence Walker, Kamora Matthews, Karleigh Matthews, and Kaia Walker; sister-in-law, Claudette Perry; two nieces, Kirby Johnson and Brandy Roddy; two nephews, Kevin Singleton and Kurt Singleton; and other relatives and friends.
