NATCHEZ — Services for Harlan B. “Brad” McSwain, 70, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020, in Vidalia, will be 11 a.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with Brian Monahan officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Brad was born on April 23, 1949, in Natchez, the son of Harlan Brandon McSwain and Marjorie Rogers McSwain Pruitt.
He graduated from Natchez High School and attended Mississippi State University. Brad served in the National Guard and was involved for a number of years with the Natchez Jaycees. Brad was the former owner of BMC Supply of Natchez.
He was preceded in death by his father and his wife of 45 years, Cindy Wise McSwain of Natchez.
Survivors include his mother, Marjorie McSwain Pruitt of Natchez; two sons, Brandon McSwain and wife, Neen Hewitt McSwain, of Brandon, and Russ McSwain of Natchez; four grandchildren, Erin Hamilton Hogan and husband, Chris, of Augusta, Georgia, Beth Hamilton Ainsworth and husband, Hunter, of Pearl, Emma McSwain and Ethan McSwain of Natchez; four great-grandchildren, Evie, Elliot, Watson and Noelle Ainsworth of Pearl; one sister, Charm McSwain of Natchez; one nephew, Josh Powell and wife, Ashley, of Natchez; one niece, Mandy Powell of Los Angeles; fiancée, Lynne R. Edwards of Natchez and her children, Laura Smith and husband, Rex, and Marlee Skinner, all of Summerville Georgia, Chris Edwards and wife, Marie of Summit, and her grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Doris Ann Benoist, Katie Wise McCarstle and husband, Clift, and Micki Wise Smith and husband, Ricky, all of Natchez; two brothers–in-law, Stephen Wise and wife, Karen, of Arroyo Grande, California, and Ernest Wise of Lafayette, Louisiana; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a lifelong best friend, Milton Rawles.
Pallbearers will be Layne Browning, Andre Farrish, Parnell Burns, Bruce Laird, Murphy Galloway and Larry “Pud” Foreman.
Song will be by Brent Anderson.
