SICILY ISLAND— Graveside services for Patrick Leon Tucker, 70, of Shreveport, Louisiana, who died Friday, Dec. 27, 2019, in Houston, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at New Pine Hill Cemetery in Sicily Island with the Rev. Brian Gunter of Pollock, Louisiana, officiating.

Patrick Leon Tucker was born Nov. 25, 1949, in Springhill, Louisiana, the son of James and Lois McAllister Tucker.

He was a 1968 graduate of Vidalia High School and a Vietnam War veteran. He proudly served as a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, 23rdScty Police Sq. (TAC) and was a member of the VFW. Following his military service, he worked in the oil and gas industry for a number of years, ending his career as supervisor of Overseas Operations in Fortaleza, Brazil, for Nabors Offshore Drilling of Houston.

Patrick was an avid gun collector and enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Dorothy Hutton and husband, Ron, and their daughter, Cathy Taylor; and one brother, Kenny Tucker.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Barbara “Bobbie” Smedley Tucker; biological stepdaughter, Lawanda Bridges of Texarkansas, Arkansas; one brother, Mike Tucker and wife, Connie, of Natchez; one sister, Arlene Carter and husband, Jason, of Vidalia; brother-in-law, Billy Smedley and wife, Helen, of Jonesville; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Jean “Dame” Gillespie and husband, Son, of Jigger, Louisiana, and Brenda Tarver and husband, Wayne, of Ferriday; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Mark and David Gillespie, Joel and Jake Smedley, Eddie and Joey Tarver.
