NATCHEZ — A former baseball player for Jefferson County High School and Adams County Christian School signed his letter of intent to continue playing baseball at University of Missouri in November.

Josh Day played for Jefferson County Tigers for three years and transferred to ACCS Rebels his senior year. Day played as shortstop for both Tigers and Rebels. Day said signing to play at Missouri is a dream come true.

“I think it’s a blessing to attend an SEC university,” Day said. “It was the best place for me when I went on my visit.”

Last year, Day finished his first season at Copiah Lincoln Community College Wolves. During his first season, Day hit 44 base hits and obtained 41 RBI. He was walked 24 times and stolen 13 bases. Day said his favorite memory from last season was hitting a walk-off grand slam against rival Southwest Community College.

Day is not the only one in his family to attend a university. Day’s brother Christian Day is a senior pitcher at Delta State University. Each of the brothers went to Co-Lin.

David Day, principal at Jefferson County High School and father of Josh and Christian, said both brothers are excited for each other.

“Each one would try and out do the other one,” David Day said. “Christian is excited for Josh and Josh is equally excited for Christian.”
