Ferriday plays at 3:30 Friday in State championship game

FERRIDAY — The No. 1 seed Ferriday High Trojans will play against the No. 2 seed Many High School Tigers at 3:30 p.m. Friday in the Louisiana High School Athletics Association Class 2A State championship in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The Trojans advanced to the championship game after a 42-14 win over the Amite Magnet High School Warriors last Friday. This will be the Trojans first time in the Class 2A championship game for the first time in 35 years.
During the season, the Trojans obtained a perfect record at home, won District 2 outright and during the playoffs the Trojans were 4-0 at home. The Trojans overall record is 13-1.
During playoffs for the Tigers, they were 8-1 at home, won District 3 outright and during the playoffs the Tigers were 4-0 at home. Many has an overall record of 11-3.
In a voicemail sent to parents on Monday night, Concordia Parish School District Superintendent Whest Shirley said classes would be canceled on Friday.
