NATCHEZ– Services for Jack C. Sims, 78, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019, in Natchez, will be 11 a.m.  on today at First Church of Natchez with the Rev. James Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Mr. Sims was born Aug. 21, 1941, in Hamburg, the son of George Sims and Elsie Maurice McKinney Sims.
He was a member of First Church of Natchez.
Mr. Sims was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley Sims; one brother, George P. Sims; and one sister, Flo Coursey.
Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Herring and husband, Ken, of Natchez; one granddaughter, Sarai Barnett and husband, Wes, of New Jersey; one grandson, Chase Herring and wife, Colleen, of Marion; one great-granddaughter, Patrycja Barnett of New Jersey; two sisters, Betty Caldwell of Marietta, Georgia, and Dorothy Burkhalter of Baton Rouge; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Terrell Jones, Buster Martinez, Larry Ozburn, Terry Sims, Chris Sims and Timmy Prather.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
