NATCHEZ — In a rivalry basketball game on Friday night, the Natchez Bulldogs beat the Jefferson County Tigers 48-15 at Natchez High School.
The Bulldogs defense came up huge against the Tigers during the game, only giving up single digits to the Tigers in each quarter with the most points being five. At the end of the first half, the Bulldogs led 33-5.

The Bulldogs (4-1) next game is on Dec. 3 against the Wilkinson County High School Wildcats. Natchez is on a four-game winning streak, since losing to Vicksburg in the beginning of the season.
Bulldogs Head Coach David Haywood said the Bulldogs will continue to work on their offense and defense.
“We’re trying to become more effective on both ends and just continue to work on ourselves,” Haywood said. “There’s nothing special going into Wilkinson County. We just want to continue to get better each day at practice and be prepared for the next opponent.”
The Tigers (0-4) hope to break their four-game losing streak in their next game against the Wesson High School Cobras on Dec. 3.
Haywood said he wants to thank the fans who came out to watch the Bulldogs play on Friday night.
“We had a great crowd,” Haywood said. “Our next home game is on Dec. 20 against Franklin County. It was great to see a packed crowd for the game. Hopefully we will continue to build support for both the girls and boys.”
Tip-off for the Bulldogs game is on Dec. 3 at Wilkinson County High School.
