Parish voters goes to polls Saturday

VIDALIA — Concordia Parish voters will go to the polls Saturday to cast their votes in the general election that will determine the state’s next governor and several district and local officials.
Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Louisiana Governor’s race has drawn national attention as incumbent Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards and Republican challenger “Eddie” Rispone square off.
Edwards is one of the only Democratic Governors in the Deep South and President Donald Trump has been campaigning in Louisiana in recent weeks in support Rispone.
Also on Saturday’s ballots will be several local and district offices that were not decided in the Oct. 12 election and local officials have said they anticipate a large voter turnout with as many as 1,565 people having early voted as of Nov. 7.
