FERRIDAY— Services for Anna Mae Lewis Jefferson, 71, of Houston, formerly of Ferriday, who died at Hermann Memorial Hospital in Houston, were Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019, at the Mount Zion Baptist Church in Wildsville, Louisiana.
Burial followed at the church cemetery under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday.
Mrs. Jefferson was born in Ferriday, the daughter of Allen Orange and Josephine Lewis. She was a member of Mount Zion Church and a retired cook.
She is survived by three sons, Jesse Jefferson and his wife, Melissa, of Phoenix, Arizona; James Jefferson of Houston, and Cedrick Jefferson of Marrietta, Georgia; four daughters, Barbara Jefferson of Ferriday, JoAnn Jefferson of Detroit, Sarah Jefferson and Tonya Johnson and husband, Kennesaw, all of Georgia; one brother, Everett Lewis of Ferriday; five sisters, Sarah Madison and husband, Sammie, Jessie White, Merry Tennessee and Mary Tennessee, all of Ferriday, and Murray Lewis of Houston; 22 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews including a special niece and caregiver, Shawanda Lewis of Houston.
