Hot-air balloons bobbed up and down below a low layer of clouds Saturday morning as pilots tried to catch what wind there was to steer their balloons to the Natchez Mall. In the end, one pilot — Gary Whitby — was the only pilot to successfully steer his balloon to the intended target.
Because of a change in the weather conditions, most balloons drifted over the center of town giving local residents an early morning balloon sighting.
