VIDALIA— Services for Helen Ellis Lloyd, 82, of Vidalia, who died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2019, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Young’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Dr. Jarrod Bottley officiating.
Burial will follow at Whitehog Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Ms. Lloyd was born Nov. 3, 1936, the daughter of Sam D. Ellis and Leola Woodard Ellis.
She was employed by Concordia Parish/In-Home Dietician/The Council on Aging.
She was baptized July 1946, in the Mississippi River by the Rev. Dave Woods.
She was also a member of Young’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member and served as secretary for a number of years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Samuel Renard Lloyd.
Survivors include her loving and devoted children, Rhonda Ellis Bell, Fredric M. Lloyd and wife, Beatrice, Kenneth D. Lloyd and wife, Katrina, and Wilbur D. Lloyd and wife, Carol; two aunts, Elnora Albert and Ruby Davis; her 11 wonderful grandchildren, Leola Rachel Ellis, Kenneth D. Lloyd Jr., Aurelia Shantie C. Ellis, Devin M. Lloyd, Adrian D. Lloyd, Essence R. Bell, Darrell Wilson, Keyondric Wilson, Tarryl Knight, Tiffany Lloyd and Jasmine Wilson; 19 great-grandchildren; one special daughter, Mary Knight; one special son, Clyde Williams; one brother-in-law, Carl Baker; one sister-in-law, Terrance Broxton; a devoted friend, Georgia Allen; and a number of cousins and friends.
