NATCHEZ— Services for Kenny Matrell Clay, 54, of Baton Rouge, formerly of Natchez, who died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019, in Baton Rouge, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Mercy Seat Baptist Church with the Rev. Walter Sago officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time at the church.
Mr. Clay was born Oct. 26, 1964, in Natchez, the son of James and Lydia Woods-Clay.
He attended the Adams County public school system and was a graduate of Copiah-Lincoln College. Kenny attended services at Beacon Light Church in Baton Rouge. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed cooking and discussing politics.
Survivors include his wife, Angie Babin Clay; step-daughter, Brittany Estes; daughters, Kenya Clay and Tekala Jackson; two grandsons, Aaden Hughley and Nasir Revader; two brothers, James Clay and wife, Linda, of Moss Point and Riley Clay and wife, Mary, of Magnolia, Texas; two sisters, Chriscella Clay of Baton Rouge and Monica Clay-Morris and husband, Michael, of Madison; one special nephew who was like a brother, Melvin Mason, and a number of other loving nephews; a number of nieces, LaShonda, Chris, Stephanie, Taja, LaVanya, Kawami, James, Jaime, Lydia, Tonique, Justin, Cassie, Riley, Meredith, Brittney, Branton, Clay, Jackson; and other relatives and friends.
