FERRIDAY— Services to honor and celebrate the life of Shenita Katrell Dunbar, 47, of Clayton, who died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Mercy Seat Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Danny Lewis officiating.
Burial, with military honors, will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Dunbar was born Sept. 1, 1972, in Natchez, the daughter of Levi Dunbar and Patsy Johnson.
She was a U.S. Navy veteran and a correctional officer for the Tensas Parish Detention Center.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Survivors include her mother; one son, Javonta Beech; three daughters, Marquante Meredith, Jamayai Allen and Paris Dunbar; one brother, Stacy Johnson and wife, Tameka; one sister, Renata Johnson, all of Ferriday; one grandchild; and a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
