NATCHEZ—  Services for James Alton Huff, 88, of Natchez, who went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, Sept. 23, 2019, at home surrounded by his loving family, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with Troy Denard and the Rev. Paul Southerland officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Huff was born Feb. 17, 1931, in the Homochitto community in Amite County, the son of Eugene Clarmont Huff and Lucille Griffin Huff.
He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  Huff was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.  He was awarded first place in the Senior Olympics of Natchez in May 1994, for both checkers and dominoes.  He was a member of the Quarter Century Club of International Paper Company where he worked as supervisor of the finishing and shipping department for a number of years. He began his IP career in June 1950 and retired in 1985.  He was an active member and former deacon at Highland Baptist Church.
Huff was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gene Huff, and one grandson, Kenneth Alan Huff Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Patricia Anne Huff; five children, Jim Huff and wife, Ann, of Madison, Ken Huff and wife, Susan, of Meadville, Tim Huff and wife, Kerry, of Marshall, Texas, Larry Huff and wife, Sauncee, of Vancleave, and Sherry Huff and Craig Francis of Pace, Florida; seven grandchildren, a number of step-grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tres Rehms, Matt Mitchell, Noble Guedon, David Martinez, Jeff Wellman and Chad Boyette.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Highland Baptist Church Building Fund.
