PICAYUNE— Graveside services for Barbara Carson “Bobbie” Davis, 86, of Picayune, who died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019, will be 10 a.m. today at New Palestine Cemetery with the Rev. Jon Filkins officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home in Picayune.
A native of Richmond, Virginia, Mrs. Davis was a homemaker and attended Trinity United Methodist Church.
Bobbie’s many interests were vast and interesting. She enjoyed nothing more than entertaining a group of friends at her home for many occasions. Her love of gardening, inherited from her mother, was an ever-evolving project. She enjoyed painting and accomplished many pieces of artwork that she presented to her children. She was a pioneer in outdoor hunting adventures for women back in the 1960s. She was one of the first women ever featured in Outdoor Life when writer Ted Trueblood came down to see her massive buck, killed in Adams County, Mississippi. She was a cheerful and happy person and if you have the pleasure to enjoy her company, you are smiling now of fond memories with Bobbie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carr H. Carson and Theresa Harris Carson; her loving and devoted husband, Frank G. Davis; one son, Francis Carson Davis; and one sister, Martha Ann Auringer.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Guy E. Davis and wife, Arlene, Martha D. Dossett and husband, Clay, and Theresa Alexander; four grandchildren, Michael G. Davis, Rebecca Davis, Adam Dossett and wife, Magee, and Sterling Alexander; two great-grandchildren, Carson Dossett and Frances Dossett; one niece, Debbie Jones and husband, Mike, and one nephew, Foster Auringer.
