NATCHEZ — Local law enforcement recovered two stolen Ford trucks on Log Town Road at approximately 6 p.m. Friday.
A silver Ford F-150 had been reported stolen Tuesday from Natchez Salvage’s equipment yard on Col. John Pitchford Parkway.
On Friday, Adams County deputies and Natchez police were called to 5 Log Town Road in reference to another stolen vehicle, this time a burgundy Ford F-150.
Adams County Chief Deputy Jerry Brown said the owner of the stolen truck and other witnesses said they saw a black male dressed in a blue and yellow Natchez High School shirt drive down Log Town road in the victim’s vehicle.
On Log Town Road, the deputies found a juvenile who matched the description driving the stolen burgundy truck and transported him to the Adams County Juvenile Detention Center.
While on the scene, deputies reportedly spotted Willie Dobbins, 18, and the stolen silver F-150 nearby and detained Dobbins for questioning.
The silver truck was parked and had a damaged steering column that prevented it from starting. Brown said it is unclear whether the truck was damaged prior to being stolen.
Eyewitnesses said Dobbins had been driving the silver truck, Brown said.
Dobbins, Brown said, had also been arrested approximately three years ago in connection to another vehicle taken from Natchez Salvage.
Dobbins was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property and is being detained at Adams County Sheriff’s Office pending arraignment, Brown said.
In the bed of the silver truck, deputies found a Black and Decker table saw that did not belong to the truck’s owner. Brown said the owner of the saw is unknown.
