NATCHEZ— Memorial services for Carrol Jane Wilcher McKinney, 75, died peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2019, surrounded by her beloved family at Brandon Nursing & Rehab after a long illness, will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Natchez Grand Hotel.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time and will continue afterwards.
Born in Carthage with her twin sister and soul mate, Patsy, on Oct. 23, 1943, she was the daughter of Hugh Ellis Wilcher and Catherine Arthur Wilcher.
Carrol spent many wonderful years raising her family in Natchez and travelling for her profession before settling in Brandon.
Carrol’s passion resonated in her love for her family and life. Her kind, sweet soul touched everyone she came into contact with. A beautiful and outgoing woman, she lived with deep passion, enjoying many hobbies, including music, dancing, crafts, travelling, and most of all, spending time with her family and friends laughing.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include one daughter, Nikki Lynn McKinney of Brandon; one son, Roy Christopher McKinney of Brandon; two grandchildren, Karlee and Kaylee McKinney of Florence; one niece, Kathryn Kirven Hall and one nephew, Kelcy Hugh Kirven, both of Rankin County; goddaughter, Brandilyn Dawn Beach and Peyton and Nicholas Beach; and a number of distant cousins.
She will always be missed and loved by her family and many, many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association of Mississippi.
