NATCHEZ — Team Natchez takes a classic approach to fundraise for the American Cancer Society this weekend during a classical music concert at Brandon Hall, the second fundraising event in a series of four concerts called “Concerts 4 the Cure.”

The show starts at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, and features Kurt Munstedt and Tyler Sieh from the New Orleans Philharmonic Orchestra, said Team Natchez cheerleader Mary Lessley.

“They both have fabulous credentials and it should be a wonderful show for everyone,” Lessley said.

All proceeds from each concert will be donated to the American Cancer Society, Lessley said, and help Team Natchez win the annual “Real Men Wear Pink” fundraising race — a competition between other business and community leaders across the region.

The first “Concert 4 the Cure,” featuring Southern gospel music, had been hosted at New Direction Ministries by Rev. Kevin Deason — who is also the face of the 2019 Team Natchez campaign, Lessley said.

Tickets to Sunday’s show are $50 each, Lessley said, and include white wine and light hors d’oeuvres for refreshments.

A silent auction will also be on display at this event and the remaining Concerts 4 the Cure at Stanton Hall and Monmouth Historic Inn on Sept. 22 and Oct. 20, Lessley said, adding auction winners would be announced after the Broadway music finale at Monmouth.

Tickets to Sunday’s concert have been distributed to various local businesses for sale, Lessley said, and may also be purchased at the door or online at bontempstix.com/events/Concerts-for-the-Cure-8-25-2019.

Checks should be made payable to the American Cancer Society, Lessley said.
