FERRIDAY— Services for Betty Tassin Gorum, 79, of Natchez, who died Thursday, July 31, 2019, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 7 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home Ferriday Chapel with the Rev. Bryan Monahan officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
A second service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cottonport, Louisiana, with the Rev. Walter Ajaero officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery No. 2 under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Betty was born Oct. 3, 1939, in Cottonport, the daughter of Lurry and Cecile Bonnette Tassin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Kurt Patrick Guillot; one brother, Donald Tassin; and one sister, Barbara Tassin.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Bennie Gorum of Natchez; one daughter, Pam Graves and husband, Albert, of Centreville; one son, Gary Guillot Jr. and wife, Angel, of Vidalia; daughter-in-law, Paula Guillot of Vidalia; two brothers, Gary Tassin and wife, Sandra, of LaPlace, Louisiana, and Darrel Tassin and wife, Carol, of Cottonport; one sister, Margaret Ducote and husband, Mike, of Cottonport; one grandson, Nigel Guillot; five granddaughters, Laura Graves, Erin Schell, Krystle Guillot, Devin Dunaway and Hillary Deville; and five great-grandchildren, Rudy Guillot, Kylee Maghee, Logan Schell, Aria Deville and Walter Dunaway.
Pallbearers will be Shawn Tassin, Josh Tassin, Robert Ducote, Nigel Guillot, Mike Ducote and Albert Graves.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lloyd Byrd and Lonnie Freeman.
