VIDALIA— Services for Richard “R.L.” Stewart Sr., 76, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, July 25, 2019, in Ferriday, will be 3 p.m. Sunday at River Assembly in Vidalia with the Rev. Raymond Kelly and the Rev. Clay Kelly officiating.
Burial will follow at Heard Cemetery in Manifest, Louisiana, under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until service time Sunday at the church.
Mr. Stewart was born Sept. 10, 1942, in Natchez, the son of Carl Stewart and Clara Lofton Stewart.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Stewart; his parents; two sisters, Meta Corley and Ola Mae Johnson; one son, Richard “Bo” Stewart Jr.; and three grandchildren, Cheyenne Stewart, George Stewart and Jamie Corkern.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Kelly and husband, Raymond, of Ocean Springs, and Tammy Johnese of Ferriday; one brother, Marion Stewart and wife, Betty “BJ” of Vidalia; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Raymond “Trey” Kelly III, Jewel Burr, Jewel Burr III, Aaron Stewart, Bobby Maples and J.D. Denny.
