LAKE ST. JOHN— Services for Wilma Jean McElfresh Lucas, 80, who died Tuesday, July 9, 2019, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Lake St. John Community Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Mark Richardson officiating.
Burial will be 4 p.m. at Earnest Cemetery in Hampton, Arkansas, under the direction of Golden Funeral Home in Bastrop, Louisiana.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Lucas was a member of Lake St. John Community Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Bastrop Rotary. She lived in Bastrop for 46 years and worked hand-in-hand with her husband at the Lucas Chiropractic Clinic. Some of her favorite pastimes were drawing, gardening, reading, being outdoors, and being near the water. She loved going to eat at the Duck’s Nest with her favorite son-in-law, Kenny.
Lucas was preceded in death by her husband, Harold “Doc” Lucas; parents, Thomas and Margaret McElfresh; two brothers, James McElfresh and Charles McElfresh; and one sister, Marie Phillips.
Survivors include two children, Donald Lucas of Bastrop and Brenda Lucas Naff and husband, Ken, of Ferriday; one sister, Maxine Wilson of Camden, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Lance Lucas and wife, Arish, of Bastrop, Candie Moore and husband, James, of Monroe, Louisiana, Jeana Spring and husband, Cory, of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Lucas Naff and wife, Elisabeth, of Vancleave; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a loving caregiver, Tina Gaston.
Pallbearers will be Lance Lucas, Jeremy Lucas, Caleb Lucas, Landonn Lucas, Lucas Naff and Cory Spring.
