NATCHEZ — Absentee voting is underway in Adams County, an official in the Adams County Circuit Clerk’s office said.

“Absentee voting started Monday,” said Eva Givens, Adams County chief deputy clerk.

The deadline to register to vote is July 8, Givens said, adding the circuit clerk’s office would be open from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday, July 6, to accommodate people who want to register to vote and for absentee voting.

Also, to accommodate absentee voting, Givens said the circuit clerk’s office would be open from 8 a.m. until noon Saturdays, July 27, and Aug. 3, which is the last day to cast an absentee ballot before the Aug. 6 primaries.

Also, Givens said, people 65 and older can call the circuit clerk’s office at 601-446-6326 to request an absentee ballot be mailed to them.

Mail in absentee ballots must be delivered to the circuit clerk’s office by 5 p.m. Aug. 5.

Givens said the circuit clerk’s office also would be open 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, July 1, through Friday, July 5, with the exception of July 4 on which the office will be closed all day.

“We do have sample ballots available at the circuit clerk’s office,” Givens said.

The Adams County Circuit Clerk’s office is located in the Adams County Courthouse at 115 S. Wall St., Natchez.
