NATCHEZ— Services for Wanzi Anders Poindexter, 93, of Natchez, who died Sunday, June 9, 2019, at her residence, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mark Whitney officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Poindexter was born Sept. 7, 1925 in Natchez, the daughter of James Anders and Ora Lanehart Anders.
She was a hard worker who loved her garden. She was always happy and loved her family dearly. Mrs. Poindexter was friendly with the Calvary Baptist Church in Kingston.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold “Pud” Poindexter; her parents; one brother, Hillrey Anders; two sisters, Myrtle Perry and Audrey Laird; one grandson, Eric Tucker; one nephew, Lester Perry; and infant sister, Valley Mae Anders.
Survivors include one daughter, Connie Tucker and husband, Mike, of Vidalia; four grandchildren, Jennifer Tucker, Jeffrey Tucker, Rebecca Stewart and husband, John, and Anthony Tucker and wife, Becky; four great-grandchildren, Eric “E.J.” Grantham, Ashley Scott and husband, Matthew, Morgan Mullins and husband, Dustin, and Skylar Wagley; five great-great-grandchildren, Patrick, Caitie, Jon David, Mason, Adalyn, and soon to be, Olivia Rose and Gunnar Waylon; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Mark and Betty Whitney and Robbie Smith.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Mullins, Aaron Forbess, John Stewart, Matthew Scott, Eric Grantham, and William Schneider Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffrey Tucker and Anthony Tucker.
