NATCHEZ — Natchez native and Cathedral graduate Caleb Upton has been named head baseball coach at Brookhaven Academy.
The Cougars are coming off back-to-back MAIS AA baseball championships.
“I am very excited about taking over at Brookhaven Academy,” Upton said. “I am stepping into a great storied program in a great community with great people. The baseball program has experienced a lot of success in the past couple years, and I am hoping to continue that trend in the upcoming seasons.”
Upton, 25, recently completed his second season as a graduate assistant coach for Hinds Community College, working as a catcher’s coach and assistant batting coach. Upton also worked in the Sports Information Department at Hinds Community College.
Upton graduated from Mississippi College in 2017 with a degree in mathematics. He also has an associate’s degree from Hinds Community College in education he earned in 2014.
