NEW ORLEANS— Services for Mose Brown Jr., 84, of New Orleans, who died Tuesday, May 7, 2019, will be 10 a.m. Friday at New Hope Baptist Church, 1807 Rev. John Raphael Jr. Way in New Orleans.
Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery in Stampley, Jefferson County, under the direction of Heritage Funeral Directors, 4101 St. Claude Ave., in New Orleans.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until service time for family, friends, members of New Hope Baptist Church, members of Local 3000 and SODEXO staff of Tulane University.
Mr. Brown was born Jan. 9, 1935, in Church Hill, the son of Mose Brown Sr. and Lula Swanson Brown.
He was a former member of the International Longshoremen Association. He worked as a longshoreman for 29 years.
Survivors include his wife, Katie Ruth Irving Brown; two daughters, Detrick Brown Myers and husband, Carey, and Ashika Brown Mitchell and husband, Greg; two sons, Mark Brown and wife, Joyce, and Ronald Brown; mother-in-law, Ruth Shaw Ward; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Shaw Robertson and husband, Bernard, and Linda Shaw Jackson; one brother-in-law, the Rev. Maurice Irving and wife, Delores; and a number of other relatives and friends.
