VICKSBURG — Warren County Sheriff’s Office deputies have two men in custody today after a manhunt that included one of the suspects leading local law enforcement officers on a high-speed chase through Concordia Parish and Adams County just before 8 p.m. Friday.

Warren County Sheriff’s Office deputies confirmed late Monday afternoon that Zachary Brooks, 22, and Justin Tilley, 17, were taken into custody Monday afternoon and face multiple charges, including receiving stolen property.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace told the Vicksburg Post that Brooks and Tilley were taken into custody shortly before 1:30 p.m. Monday in a trailer off of Miller Street in Vicksburg.

“One suspect was found under a bed in a linen drawer,” Pace told the Vicksburg Post. “And the other, was found under another bed in a linen drawer.”

Pace told the Vicksburg Post that deputies confronted the owners of the trailer and had a brief standoff before being allowed to enter the trailer.

“Two adults and one juvenile were arrested for what Pace said was ‘harboring’ of the suspects,” The Vicksburg Post reported. “Brooks, Tilley and the other three arrested Monday have all been transported to the Warren County Jail.”

Brooks and Tilley became suspects on May 1 when Warren County deputies said they took a report of a stolen 1998 Chevrolet Silverado from the Mt. Alban Road area.

“On May 8 the Vicksburg Police responded to a wreck with injuries on Warrenton Road at which time it was determined one of the vehicles involved was the reported stolen truck,” the Warren County Sheriff’s Office stated in a social media post on May 10.

On Friday evening, officials said Brooks is believed to have been a passenger in a BMW when a Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy tried to pull the car over on U.S. 84 east in Ridgecrest on Friday evening.

The driver, a white female, made a U-turn, the deputy said, and appeared to be pushed out of the car by the passenger, believed to have been Brooks.

Then, Brooks led Adams County Sheriff’s officers on a high-speed chase reaching 120 mph through Adams County with no headlights on in the car, said Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten.

The chase was called off as the car left Adams County, Patten said, for the safety of the community and the officers involved.

The female was transported to Merit Health Natchez where she was treated and released, Patten said.

On Sunday afternoon, Warren County officials said Brooks and Tilley, according to a report by WJTV Jackson, “were in a gold Buick Century at the corner of Halls Ferry Road and Fisher Ferry Round on Sunday afternoon. During a chase, officials said the suspects hit a deputy’s patrol car on purpose. The two suspects reportedly got out of the Buick and ran away.”

Deputies said they could not release specifics of the capture late Monday afternoon.
