May 6, 1955 – May 7, 2019
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — A small memorial service for Tanya Shantelle Scirocco, 64, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., who died Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at her residence, will be 5 p.m. today at 2 N. Park St., in Cape Girardeau.
A second memorial service will be announced in the near future with loved ones in the Louisiana and Mississippi area.
Arrangements are under the direction of Crain Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau.
Mrs. Scirocco was born May 6, 1955, at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas, the daughter of Barnes Kenneth Watson and Doris Ray Stephens.
She lived in a number of places over the years including parts of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Missouri.
While she put in more than nine years of service in the recovery room at St. Francis Hospital, three years in the hospitality industry, and a number of years of her life working in customer service, Tanya’s proudest accomplishment was her children and grandchildren.
She was an avid reader and loved animals. She will be fondly remembered for her amazing sense of humor, and how she always had a joke ready for you. She loved music and never stopped listening to her old favorites, while continuing to find new artists and music to add to her extensive eclectic repertoire of favorites and music knowledge.
After recently moving into a new home with her daughter, she had one wall hanging that she had already put up that reads, “Whichever Way the Wind Blows! Well, here I am God … what next?” May what’s next be all that has been promised and she live in eternal peace and perfection with our heavenly Father. She will be truly missed here on earth.
Scirocco was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Ray Stephens Long; her father, Barnes Kenneth Watson; first son, Kenneth Shannon Kinney; her younger sister, Kenya Medina Watson; nephew, James Gerry Sansone; and a number of other close friends and other family members.
Survivors include two children, Marcus John Scirocco and wife, Summer Rogillo Scirocco, of Natchez, and Medina Shantelle Scirocco of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, Nicholas Cade Scirocco, Emery Adele Scirocco and Jazlyn Shantelle Scirocco; one sister, Debbie Kay Sansone and husband, Ronnie Wedgeworth; one nephew, Anthony Sansone; one niece, April Sansone Sturgeon; ex-husband, Mark Scirocco; great-nieces and nephews, a number of cousins and other loved ones.
All friends and family members are invited to attend the memorial services to celebrate her life together and life her up in prayer as her spirit passes on.
