Seasons come and go for all

Winter, spring, summer or fall, the world changes and adapts as each one comes and goes.
We may take it for granted, but God knew that things should change and not stay the same, and that is why he gives us seasons. Wouldn’t it be miserable if one of the seasons decided to stay all year round?
I know from personal experience, I would just freeze to death in the winter, burn up in the summer, deal with allergies in the spring and dodge the cold raindrops in the fall.
The best part about the seasons is that they all are distinct and unique. Although winter is designed to be cold, it gives the land and animals a rest period of hibernation. Then in the spring, a warming of the Earth creates a signal to all in hibernation (animal or plant life) that it’s time to come out and start to work. And then, gradually, the Earth heats up to notify us that we are in summer, a month that adds a touch to the growth of the land only if rain is mixed in. And the best part to me is when the Earth is neither cold, nor hot, or in between. Then, we know it’s fall, where there is just enough coolness that allows us to get out and enjoy the atmosphere without working up a sweat.
I’m so glad that our God is not a boring God who decided to create only one season of which we would just grow weary. As we look at the seasons, we could very well compare them to the phases of our lives. Just as the seasons change to give the Earth necessity to survive, we too need change.
I am so glad that our bodies are not equipped to reproduce every day, but are given nine months to get ready for the new life. I am so glad that we do not starve because of financial problems, but were created uniquely to work and till the land so that we could eat.
I am so glad that I am not depressed all the time, but able to find avenues that give me a spirit of laughter. If our lives stayed in only one phase, we would be miserable part of the 365 days of the year. There is a song I recently heard, while attending a wedding, with lyrics that read “it’s your season to be blessed.”
Sometimes, it might look as though trouble will last always, but it doesn’t. Soon, it too will pass. Even happiness, doesn’t last all the time. If it did, we would get a big head and think we were God. It was also mentioned in the song that God made us a promise that if we stood the test of the time, and came through, he would give us a season filled with a great harvest for our seasons of obedience. And because God spoke this promise, I believe.
Even on this Earth from man/woman, we should not take lightly a spoken or written promise. A promise is words sealed and guaranteed. When someone makes you a promise, it’s like they signed it in blood, meaning on their life, they stand by it. The lyrics in this song stirred up my spiritual awareness and made me realize that not only are we going to go through life with changes as the season, but reminded me that we would not have it good all the time, bad all the time, mellow all the time or erratic all the time, and despite it all, we can look forward to a season that will blow our minds and leave us astound.
Why? Because God made us a promise. So while we are in this season of a “recession,” believe the promise that God has something good in store for us, if only we believe and hold on.
So if you lose a job, hold on, this too will pass. If you lose a loved one and can’t come out of depression, hold on, this too will pass. If your children seem to be disobedient, hold on, this too will pass. If your marriage seems to be in a rocky zone, hold on, this too will pass. If your spouse has left you with all the responsibilities, hold on, this too will pass.
Believe, trouble doesn’t last always. The promise is in place, grab a hold of it and believe that a change of season will come in your life, soon. Seasons come and seasons go, but remember that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever more.
