NATCHEZ — Natchez Police officers are investigating a shooting that injured a man at Holiday Apartments at approximately 5:10 p.m. Monday, officials said.

The victim was transported to Merit Health Natchez with what was believed to be a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, said Natchez Police Chief Walter Armstrong.

“Investigators have been called out to the scene and to the hospital,” Armstrong said, adding the investigation is progressing. “I think we will be developing a person of interest soon.”
