Natchez — The Natchez Disabled American Veterans Volunteer Transportation Van crossed the 50,000 mile mark in June, highlighting an important service to Veterans in southwest Mississippi.
The G.V. “Sonny” Montgomery Veterans Affairs Medical Center partners with DAV to provide Veterans transportation for patients to their medical appointments.
The Natchez DAV Volunteer Transportation network transports Veterans from Adams, Franklin and Lincoln counties to their medical appointments at the VA Medical Center in Jackson on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This service has been available since April, 2007. The route includes departure from the Natchez VA outpatient and Meadville clinics stopping in Brookhaven at Krystal Burgers to the VA Medical Center in Jackson.
Use of the Natchez Transportation Network is free to all veterans receiving care at the medical center.
