NATCHEZ — The severe weather that wreaked havoc on the Miss-Lou region Thursday afternoon forced some of Friday afternoon’s high school baseball games to be either postponed or cancelled altogether.
Natchez High School and Stone County High School had to rearrange their schedule for the first round of the MHSAA Class 5A South State Playoffs because the first game of the best-of-three series that was set to take place at Chester Willis Field was rained out.
Now Game 1 will be at Stone County in Wiggins today at 1 p.m. Natchez High will still celebrate Senior Night, or in this case Senior Day, on Monday, April 22 when the Bulldogs play host to the Tomcats (yes, that is Stone County’s mascot) for Game 2 at 2 p.m. If there is a Game 3, it will start at approximately 4 p.m.
Vidalia High School’s varsity baseball game at Mangham High School that was cancelled and will not be rescheduled. The Vikings will host Beekman Charter School at Cliff Merritt Memorial Field in an LHSAA District 2-2A varsity doubleheader today starting at 11 a.m.
Monterey High School’s varsity game at LHSAA District 5-B rival Glenmora High School that was scheduled for Thursday afternoon will be played today at 1 p.m.
