Dec. 22, 1984 – March 31, 2019
NATCHEZ — Memorial services for John Foy, 34, who died Sunday, March 31, 2019, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Foy was born Dec. 22, 1984, in Natchez, the son of John D. Foy and Margaret Buckles.
He accepted Christ and was a Baptist. He was first and foremost a father and had no greater love than for his daughter, Kayleigh Shyanne Foy. He enjoyed the woods and was employed as a “cutter” operator with McCloud Logging in Brookhaven.
Foy was preceded in death by his grandmother, Olivea Ladner, and uncle, Melvin Lewis Freeman.
Survivors include his loving mother, Margaret; his beautiful daughter, Kayleigh; one brother and best “buh” Shane Rushing and his “sis-in-law” Hanna Stinson; a very special lady who gave John much love and many smiles, Fran Marie. John was a loving and patient “Uncle LJ” to Sawyer Blake Rushing and Paris Lee Rushing and an awesome nephew to Tracy Freeman and the late Melvin Lewis Freeman, Malcolm Cloy, Bobby Cater, Wendy Cater and Angie Mapp.
Finally, yet no less, John was a terrific cousin — may each of you find comfort in all of those cousin “secrets.”
John was a loving and giving young man. Even in his tragic death, he continued to be just that.
We are so proud to say that he was an organ donor. His death will lead to life for someone else. Our father, son and brother will be greatly missed by many important family and friends. No space is large enough to include you all; just please know that he loved you.
Kayleigh Foy, Margaret Buckles and Shane Rushing.
