FERRIDAY — Ferriday police officers are searching for a suspect in a Sunday night attempted armed robbery at Moose Discount store in which a store clerk was grazed by a bullet.
Ferriday Police Investigator Richard Madison said the suspect, believed to be a black male dressed in all black, approached the Moose Discount store, 605 Louisiana Ave., at approximately 11 p.m. Sunday and tried to enter.
“He did not get in,” Madison said. “The door was locked. He fired a round, and the round penetrated the door face.”
The bullet ended up grazing the left forehead of a clerk working inside the store, Madison said, adding the wound was not life threatening.
After firing the round, the suspect fled, Madison said.
“We are currently following leads,” Madison said. “We’re expecting to make an arrest here in the next day or so.”
Madison said anyone with information on the case should call the Ferriday Police Department at 318-757-3606 and ask to speak to him.
