WOODVILLE — Memorial services for Thomas Oswald Sessions Jr., 81, who died Wednesday, March 27, 2019, will be 1 p.m. Monday at Woodville United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Newman Funeral Home in Centreville.

Mr. Sessions was born Jan. 28, 1938, the son of Thomas Oswald Sessions and Bonnie Corban Sessions. He was raised in Woodville.

He received a bachelor’s degree in 1962 from Louisiana State University in forestry. While undergraduates at LSU, he and his beloved wife, Gail Picton Warlow, met. After graduation, they returned to Woodville and raised six children.

Pop Pop, as he was lovingly known by his grandchildren, enjoyed spending time with his family. He was full of laughter and joy, but was happiest walking the woods. Pop Pop was a man of strong Christian faith.

Sessions was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Gail, and one granddaughter, Emily Blair Sessions.

Survivors include six children, Andrew Woods Sessions and wife, Shellie LaFontaine, of Orlando, Fla., Joseph Broussard Sessions and wife, Gena, of Woodville, Thomas Oswald Sessions III and partner, William Roy, of Baton Rouge, Catherine Sessions Pourciau and husband, Chris, of Woodville, David Picton Warlow Sessions and wife, Katherine, of Wakefield, La., and Mittie Elizabeth Sessions Bradford and husband, Brian, of Zachary, La.; 10 grandchildren, Bonnie Corban Sessions of Jackson, Zachary Wayne Pourciau and wife, Morgan, of Pineville, La., Shannon Sessions Felder and husband, Alex, and Catherine Elizabeth Pourciau, all of Woodville, Russell Aubrey Pourciau and fiancée, Taylor Lillie, of Lafayette, La., Benjamin Thomas, Andrew Collier, Jacob Corban Sessions, all of Wakefield, Lauren Elizabeth and Robert Thomas Bradford of Zachary; two great-grandchildren, Reece Wayne and Grayson Flynn Pourciau of Pineville; one brother, Charles Elias Sessions and wife, Betty, of St. Francisville, La.; and cherished friends, Joan Brown and Irvin Williams.
