NATCHEZ — Services for Rodrick Lamont Bland, 44, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at his residence, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Egypt Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home’s Natchez chapel and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mr. Bland was born April 12, 1974, in Adams County, the son of Fredrick Lee Ivory and Shirley Bland Norman.
He was a former member of the M.W. University Grand Lodge No. 137. He enjoyed watching sports, fishing and spending time with “Mister.”
He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, James Lee Ivory and Alfred and Addie Bland; and one aunt, Katie Sims.
Survivors include one daughter who will always cherish his memories, Tyshica Rodgers; one grandson, Zavier “Mister” Owens; his mother and stepfather, Aubrey Norman; his significant other, Yashica Rodgers; one sister, Dana Norman; two brothers, Aubrey Norman Jr. and wife, Ashleigh, and Joseph Williams and wife, Tawanna; his grandmother, Fannie Rose Ivory; three nephews, Aubrey, Bentley and Alton; four nieces, Ava, Martinque, Jasmine and Joanne; three special aunts, Stella Evans, Johnnie L. Bland and Angela Bland; four great-aunts, Stella Clark, Hattie Harris, Carrie Minor and Gloria Swanier; goddaughter, Indya Duck; godsister, Sheena Warner; and a number of other relatives and friends.
