NATCHEZ— Services for Leroy “Broke” Jackson, 83, of Roxie, who died on Friday, March 1, 2019, in Roxie, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Bishop Stanley Searcy officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Jackson was born on June 16, 1935, the son of Jim Weir and Carrie Jackson. He attended Brumfield School in Natchez and was employed by R.W. Delaney Construction Company for 25 years.
Jackson was a member of St. Peter Rock Baptist Church No. 1 where he served on the finance committee. His interests included farming, fishing, hunting, watching television and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers, Robert Lee “Dub” Jackson, George Edward “Joe Geter” Jackson, Freddie Weir, Herman Weir and Manny Weir.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Annie E. Jackson; one son, Leslie Jones Sr.; two daughters, Bridget “B.J.” Jones and Regina Washington; three grandchildren, Ke’Andria, Khristian and Tyrek; four great-grandchildren, Rhylee, Karasi, Kelsee and Keldrick; godson, Caleb Blake; and other relatives and friends.
