NATCHEZ— Services for Eddie Winchester Jr., 85, of Natchez, who died Friday, Feb. 22, 2019, in Charles Town, W.Va., will be noon Thursday at Zion Hill Baptist Church No. 1 with minister Leroy Smith officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
Mr. Winchester was born on Sept. 23, 1933, the son of Eddie Winchester Sr. and Leola Townsend Williams.
He was a 1952 graduate of St. Francis High School and attended Alcorn State University. Winchester retired from the U. S. Air Force in 1976. He was a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church No. 1, where he served as a deacon, Sunday school and Bible study teacher and also a member of the Male Chorus. He enjoyed golfing at Duncan Park and fishing.
Winchester was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Williams.
Survivors include Tracy S., Jonjalyn and Joycelyn Winchester of Battle Creek, Mich., Bryan M. Sewell of South Hutchinson, Kan., Mollie P. Sewell of High Point, N.C., Arthena, Mark, Marcus and Myles Roper of Charles Town, and Patricia Sewell of Martinsburg, W.V.; and other relatives and friends.
