Local baseball, softball rained out

VIDALIA — Some local high school baseball and softball games were rained out Tuesday afternoon while one local high school softball team had to do a bit of rescheduling because of playoff basketball.
Vidalia High School’s junior varsity and varsity softball games at Marksville High School were rained out. Lady Vikings head coach Forrest Foster said the games will take place on Thursday, March 28 with the JV game at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6:30 p.m.
Centreville Academy’s junior high and varsity baseball games at Central Private School in Central, La., were also cancelled due to the inclement weather. Tigers head coach Robert Bordelon said no make-up date has been announced.
Delta Charter School’s varsity and JV softball games at Avoyelles Public Charter School in Mansura, La. did not take place Tuesday afternoon due to the Vikings’ varsity basketball team had an LHSAA Class 2A regional round game on the road at Amite High School. Lady Storm head coach Jeannie Beach said the varsity game will be played today at 4 p.m., but there will be no JV game played.
Monterey High School’s varsity and JV home games against Calvin High School were also a no-go because of Calvin’s participation in the regional round of the Class C Playoffs. Lady Wolves head coach Cary Shivley said no make-
