FERRIDAY — Services for John Thomas Sanderson, 56, of Waterproof, who died Monday, Feb. 4, 2019, while working in New Jersey, will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Young’s Funeral Home Ferriday Chapel with the Rev. Larry Walters officiating.
Burial will follow at Monclova Cemetery in Waterproof under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Sanderson was born Dec. 30, 1962, in Newellton, La., the son of Jim Sanderson and Martha Sanders.
He was the chief engineer of crane operations for Weeks Marine International.
He was preceded in death by his father; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Sanderson; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Metcalf; and daughter-in-law, Jenna Johnson and her infant son, Emmerson Sanderson.
Survivors include one son, Jim Sanderson of St. Joseph; one daughter, Bonye Sanderson of Waterproof; his mother and her husband, Bill Sanders, of Waterproof; one sister, Tammy Sanderson Thomas and husband, Chris, of Haughton, La.; stepson, Brandon White of Monroe, La.; stepdaughter, Danielle Lee and husband, Adam, and their children, all of Arkansas; two nephews, Dylan Thomas and wife, Maddie, of Haughton, and Peyton Thomas of Hammond, La.; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
