NATCHEZ — Services for Jerry Allen, 64, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Smithland Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernest Ford Jr. officiating.  
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home’s Natchez chapel and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Allen was born April 26, 1954, in Fayette, the son of J.C. Allen Sr. and Josie Howard Allen.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Calvin “Ninny” Allen and Michael Allen; one sister, Vera Allen Barnes; two nephews, Montreal Allen and Robert Robinson; and one niece, Ambri Allen.
Survivors include a loving and devoted wife, Ruby Allen; two sons, Byron D. Oliver and wife, Denita, and Kenneth McGee and wife, Demetrice; one daughter, Raquel Carter and husband, Roderick; five grandchildren, Camden and Trinity Oliver; Roderick Carter Jr., Rayanna and Rashad Carter; five brothers, Robert Robinson Sr., Willie Allen and wife, Charlotte, J.C. Allen Jr., Cedric Kemp and Joseph Kemp; two sisters, Sarah Allen and Sharon Riddle; six uncles; three aunts; six in-laws; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends by whom he will be sorely missed.
