Nubian Social Aid and Pleasure Club announces its 2019 Royalty. They will celebrate the Mardi Gras season with its Eighth Annual Tableau Ball on Saturday, January 26th at the Natchez Convention Center.

King Willie Bruce Jr.

Willie is the son of Willie and Patricia Bruce. Willie is the brother of five sisters, Porcia, Falon, Milisia, Williette (deceased), and Kitwanga. He is the father of one daughter, Kasydi Tinese Bruce, whom he absolutely loves and adores.

Willie is an Alcorn State University graduate, where he majored in social work. He is a faithful member of Locust Grove Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Smith.

His motto in life is “Hard Work and dedication brings Success; Success is not measured by the position that you reach in life but by the obstacles you had to overcome while trying to succeed.”

He is currently employed with Grand Gulf Nuclear Station.

Willie enjoys spending time with his daughter/family and friends.

Queen Falon Bruce January

Falon is the daughter of Willie and Patricia Bruce. At the age of 22, Falon married her soulmate Kendrick January Sr. Together they have two beautiful children, Kendrick January Jr. and Kendreka January.

Falon is a member at Greater Faith Worship Center where she is under the Leadership of Bishop J.L. Hammittee.

She is a 2013 graduate of Alcorn State University.

She is employed at Grand Gulf Nuclear Station.

Falon has a zeal for children, and she loves to mentor and help build up their self esteem.

Her motto in life is “Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

Chieftess Adrell Wright

Adrell is the daughter of Ella Mae Matthews and Foster M. Gordon. She attended Adams County public schools. Adrell attends Holy Family Catholic Church. Her favorite scriptures are: Our work is not finished (Alma 14:13) and He taught that with God all things are possible, Matthew 19:26.

She pursued an online correspondence course at North Dakota College and received a certified degree in Dietary Management, Food and Table Etiquette. Adrell is the owner of Punkin Pie Eatery.

She is employed at AJFC Head Start. Her passion is wayward and displaced children. Her thoughts are: “A child in need is a child in deed. For our children are our future.”

Maid Meinyaun J’Heida Smith

Meinyaun is the daughter of Shemeka Wilson and Maurice Smith. She is also the granddaughter of Carolyn Wilson, Leroy Jefferson, Amanda Milligan, James Milligan, Bridgette Lewis, Bernard Morales, Faye Nance Smith and Maurice Smith. She is the sister of Maurice Smith, Marion Smith, Jr. and Malik Smith.

Meinyaun is a senior at Ferriday High School, where she is a honor student, serves on the Student Advisory Council, Student Government Association, BETA Club,  4H Club and the Ladies of Gold. She attends Harvest Baptist Church and New Morning Star Baptist Church. She sings in the choir and she is a praise dancer.

Meinyaun plans to attend Xavier University in New Orleans, LA  and will major in Pre-Pharmacy. Her hobby is dancing.

Maid Me’Kyla Lockhart

Me’Kyla is the daughter of Tribia Frye and the granddaughter of Doris and Isiah Frye. She is the sister of Solei McGill.

Me’Kayla attends Rose Hill No. 2 Baptist Church. She is a honor student at Jefferson County High School, where she is a cheerleader.

She plans to attend Alcorn State University and major in nursing.

Me’Kyla hobbies are playing basketball, dancing and hanging with friends.

Maid Ta’Keria Owens

Ta’Keria is the daughter of Takeisha Owens and Walter Newman. She is the granddaughter of the late Rochelle and George Jackson. She is the sister of Tyvion Newman, Tyran Newman and Nyla Sims.

Ta’Keria is a senior at Natchez High School where she is a honor student and serves as Miss Natchez High School 2018-2019, president of the National Beta Club, vice president of the National Honor Society, cheer captain, member of the student government association, vice president of the Class of 2019, and assistant secretary of the math honor society. She plans to attend Mississippi State University and major in pre-law.

She is a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church where she is a member of the youth choir and a praise dancer. Her hobbies are shopping, listening to music and spending time with family and friends.

Jr. Duke Kendrick January Jr.

Kendrick January is the son of Kendrick Sr. and Falon January. He is the brother of one sister, Kendreka January.

Kendrick is a 10th-grade honor student at Jefferson County High School. His extracurricular activities include playing football and running track.

Kendrick is a member of Mount Israel Baptist Church pastored by the Rev. Jones, and he also attends Greater Faith Worship Center pastored by Bishop J.L. Hammitte.

After graduation Kendrick wants to earn an academic scholarship to play football at Louisiana State University. He doesn’t want to be known for his talents in sports, but for his prowess in academics.

He enjoys going to church, chilling in his room, playing games, looking at Wild N’ Out and hanging out with family and friends.

Kendrick’s motto in life is “You can be anything you want to be, if only you believe and act in accordance with your faith, for whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve. Whatever I set out to do I try to be the very best at it.”

Jr. Duke Paul Hargrave Jr.

Paul is the son of Jacqueline Ford Hargrave and Paul Hargrave Sr. He is the grandson of the Rev. Ernest Ford Sr., Mary Ford and the late Eddie and Julia Hargrave. He is the brother of Kayla, Shareka and Kimberly Hargrave.

Paul is a senior honor student at Natchez High School, where he is a member of the National Honor Society and the football and baseball teams.

Paul is also a member of Smithland Baptist Church, where he sings in the choir. He plans to attend the University of Mississippi and major in business.

Paul’s hobbies are playing football and baseball.
