NATCHEZ — Services for Vergie Jackson Edwards, 68, of Fayette, who died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, at her residence, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Hollywood Baptist Church in Fayette with the Rev. Elvis Colenburg Sr. officiating.       
Arrangements are under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home’s Natchez chapel.
Ms. Edwards was born Dec. 25, 1949, in Fayette, the daughter of L.C. and Mildred Jackson.
She was a graduate of Jackson State University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include one son, John L. Edwards Jr.; one daughter, Rosaline Jackson and husband, Clevonne, all of Natchez; three grandchildren, Joshua Bacon and wife, Komaljit, of Spokane, Wash., Angel Jackson and Patrick Jackson, of Natchez; three brothers, Louis Jackson and wife, Shirley, Alphonse Jackson and wife, Lilly, and Jerome Jackson; one sister, Mary L. Jackson; one adopted brother, Marquissa Jackson; one aunt, Rosetta Jackson; special friends, Mary Davis, Jackie Howard and Mary Ann Edwards; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
