NATCHEZ — Services for Leo Marvel, 87, of Natchez, who died Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, in Baton Rouge, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Greater Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Clifton Marvel officiating.
A celebration of life service will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Webb/Wingfield Funeral Home. Public tributes and kind words may be shared with the family during this time.
Mr. Marvel was born Oct. 15, 1931, in Natchez, the son of Alex Marvel Sr. and Thelma Harris.
He worked as a mechanic for Belwood Country Club until he retired. He was an animal lover and was noted in the community for the variety of animals he raised. He enjoyed visiting with his neighbors and spending time visiting with his nephews, Freddy, Kelvin and Albert Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Marvel; five daughters, Le’Wanda Marvel of Natchez, Joanna Marvel and Sharon Washington of Baton Rouge, Sandra Marvel of Chicago, and Shameka Galloway of Texas; two sons, Leo Marvel Jr. and Clifton Marvel of Chicago; three stepdaughters who he raised and loved as his own, Kim and Nikki Watkins of Natchez, and Nanette Watkins of McComb; three brothers, Michael Marvel of Marrero, La., Joseph Marvel of Natchez, and Toby Harris of Texas; one godson, Lloyd Brown of Natchez; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and four generations nieces and nephews.
