NATCHEZ — Services for Susie Payne Mathews, 71, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018, at Ridgeland Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. James Washington officiating.    
Burial will follow at the Payne Family Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Mathews was born on March 1, 1947, in Natchez, the daughter of Morris Payne and Sarah Cain Payne.
She was a graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School. She was a retired cook from the Carriage House Restaurant and a member of Providence Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.  She also enjoyed couponing, shopping, spending time with family and watching soap operas.
Mathews was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and eight sisters.
Survivors include one son, Lionel Payne and wife, Gail; one daughter, Timika Franklin and husband, Eclecius; one sister, Sinia Green; three grandchildren, Kelsey Mathews, Matthew Franklin and Micah Franklin; and other relatives and friends.
